How SustainabiliTee Came About. SustainabiliTee, aka The Green Tee, aka ThriftTee, was developed by a 26 year old who wants to fund a super cool, extremely important, film project. For a few years now, she's been directing a non-profit called StartMotions an eco-consious animation studio. But the road to get the animation "that'll save the world" done has lead to starving-artist-ville. (Little does one know the trials and tribulations of trying to get people to fund an animation made from trash. One does now, it's hard. No matter how badass the final product [will] be.) So, how can someone get their passion funded? Strip? Waitress? Not unless you want that chowder in your face. No, I decided to start a tee shirt company. With help from one investor, SustainabiliTee began with $1,000.00, actually $468.56 as of right now (our grand opening is/was the 11th of September, 2007 and I'm not changing this for at least a week or two). Yes, SustainabiliTee has been open for about the quivelent to the time humans have been on earth...not very long in relation to things. Good thing we have so much going for us: the tee shirts and our amazingly primitive minds. When we actually have them, 10% of our profits, are to be donated to multiple projects, all of which drastically improve the living condition for animals or habitats in danger. The SustainabiliTee is made for everyone. Now, we realize the term "earth-friendly" may make some cringe like granola in a flower basket, but relax and enjoy the perks. Even if one loathes all things natural, one will not believe ones' eyes when opening the SustaimabiliTee package. First you'll smile, and think of pretty blue birds singing in a grassy field, then you'll shake your head to get the horribly wonderful image out of your head.The amazing texture, the soft threads, the amazing good looks, simply overcome you. You'll fall right into our trap! In a zealous fit of joy, you throw it into the air, rub it against your cheek, it'll go to sleep with you, you'll camp with it, people will try to steal it, yet somehow your SustainabiliTee always manages to fall right back onto your loving arms. You think you chose this Tee? You didn't, it chose you. It chose someone who will make a difference in the future for all of us. Thank you Tee shirt lover. We all love you.
